Advice from Kids

Advice from Kids

You’re going to laugh at me for this one. I was playing the Inside Out game on my phone and could not get past this one level- 133. I even looked up the youtube video on how to beat it. Shameful I know. It was so bad and after a week of being unable to free all the workers, I was ready to stop playing. My cheerleaders however had other plans. They love watching me play, hearing the emotions talk, and saying You’re going to win! When I was muttering about never playing this game ever again my daughter looks at me and says Mommy, you shouldn’t give up. Just keep trying and do your best.

She was right of course. And what got me the most was that she was repeating advice I had given her and her brother. It was a moment when my not-so-little Princess really showed she is growing up. I felt all warm inside knowing this was proof my life lessons weren’t falling on deaf ears. Tears in my eyes, I hugged her and said I promise I won’t give up.

That got me thinking, what other sage advice is hiding in the minds of kids. So I asked my children and some of their friends what advice they had for adults. I hope these make you smile like they did for me!

Advice from kids for adults, funny things kid say, Kid Advice

  • Keep trying. You’re probably bigger than your problem so act like it – 9 year old
  • If you can’t reach what you want, get a ladder – 6 year old
  • If you want to travel the world, take a plane a car would take too long unless the place was right by your house- 8 year old
  • If you can’t be a doctor you should be a pirate. They are really cool – 5 year old
  • It’s okay to cry. Hug your baby lion like this – 4 year old
  • Girls can be anything they want, like a doctor, a football player, or a princess. Maybe even all 3 at the same time – 7 year old
  • If an adult loses their keys, they should look were they were yesterday-5 year old
  • If really want something you have to save up all the money in your piggy bank. That’s how it works you know – 6 year old
  • If someone needs help you should help them, like Spider-Man – 5 year old

You’ll be happy to know, or you’ll laugh at me some more, that I did finally beat that level, and received huge hugs from both kiddos for my accomplishment. But what is more important than finally being past it is that I could tell her she was right. I told her I took your advice, I didn’t give up and I finally made it. After squeezing me she said I knew you could do it, you just had to know. *heart full*
